Biography

Prof. Ehizogie Joyce Falodun is a renowned Professor of Crop Physiology in the Department of Crop Science, University of Benin, with over 16 years’ experience in research and teaching. She obtained B. Agric. Crop Science (1999), Masters (M.Sc) Crop Science (2010) and Ph.D in Crop Physiology and Farming Systems (2014) from the University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria. She has been involved in active research in the field of Crop Physiology and Plant Nutrition. Prof. Ehizogie Joyce Falodun has to her credit, numerous academic honours, grants and awards including Equipments Research Grant of $ 45,000 by INNOVATORS OF TOMORROW’ (IOT) Award (2010) under the Federal Ministry of Education in recognition of her valuable contributions to Science and Technology Education in Nigeria, Tertiary Education Trust Fund, IBR (2023), Co researcher and Certificate of Recognition of Outstanding Contribution to Development and Welfare of Crop Science Students by the 2017/2018 Crop Science Students Association of Nigeria (CROSSAN) Executives. She has contributed reasonably to the development and advancement of knowledge with over 40 scientific papers, and has published many Journal articles locally, nationally and internationally. She has also presented technical papers at international conferences organized at various events both in Nigeria and Abroad. She has successfully supervised many under graduates and post graduate students and has served as a member/coordinator of some academic and administrative committees both in the Department of Crop Science and in the University of Benin. She has served as chairman, local organizing committee for workshops, symposium and conferences. She was appointed external examiner to the Department of Crop Production, Edo State College of Agriculture, Iguoriakhi (2015-2018) and has peer reviewed many Journal articles in local, national and international Journals. She is a member of Horticultural Society of Nigeria (HORTSON), Soil Science Society of Nigeria, Recirculate Ambassador, (2018- Till date) and Vice President, Organization for Women in Science for the Developing world (OWSD) UNIBEN Chapter, 2010 – Till date. Professor Ehizogie Joyce Falodun currently serves as Editor-in-Chief for Journal of Food Security and Agriculture Research (JFSAR).
